JOB TITLE: Legal Assistant (Part-Time)

Hours: 10 hours/week, flexible afternoon schedule (1pm-5pm preferred)
Compensation: $25/hour
Type: Entry-Level / precious experience (Training Provided)

ABOUT THE ROLE
Solo law practice in Houston seeking an organized and reliable Legal Assistant to support attorney with administrative and case management tasks. No legal experience required.
This role is perfect for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and looking to learn how a law office operates. You might be a college student, a paralegal student, someone changing careers, or simply someone who loves keeping things organized. We value people who are reliable, responsive, andeager to learn.
You will help keep our case management systems running smoothly and support attorney in delivering excellent client service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Take notes during client calls and organize them in case files
• Update calendar with important dates, action items, and next steps
• Maintain calendar
• Track important deadlines for active cases
• Maintain case files
• General administrative support as needed
MUST HAVE:
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word)
•Organized
• Reliable and responsive—you show up, you follow through, you answer messages
•Good attitude
•Must be team player
• Willingness to learn
BONUS (Nice-to-Have, Not Required):
• Familiarity with Power Automate or project management tools
• Experience planning or organizing projects (even social events, group travel, club activities, etc.)
• Any previous office experience
PAY
• Rate: $25/hour
• Part-time (10 hours/week, flexible schedule)
• Potential for growth and increased hours as firm expands
• Training provided—no legal experience required
