Job Description Bullets: Manufacturing Engineer
- Support production processes for ice cream and gelato equipment by developing and improving tooling, creating and refining manufacturing processes, mitigating risks, and conducting value stream mapping to increase efficiency.
- Lead monthly quality review meetings to analyze Service Findings and Warranty Card data, identify field issues, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement plans.
- Recommend best practices and initiate procedure audits on the production floor based on recurring quality trends and customer feedback.
- Oversee product design and 3D modeling activities across the site, ensuring alignment with proprietary specifications and production needs.
- Maintain and analyze quality metrics for Original Equipment (OE) operations, driving internal quality improvement initiatives.
- Communicate weekly supplier quality feedback to domestic suppliers to support continuous improvement.
- Interface with the Italian Engineering team to ensure all products conform to proprietary designs and technical standards.
- Maintain, and optimize Bills of Materials (BOM) for all projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with engineering changes and production requirements.
- Partner with the inventory and procurement teams to recommend material substitutions and specification changes that reduce inventory levels and project costs while maintaining quality and compliance.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production and assembly issues, providing technical support revising checklists to the assembly production line workers.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, including EPA Section 608 Refrigerant Certification for refrigerant handling
- Review and update BOMs to reflect engineering changes, alternate materials, and process improvements.
- Evaluate and recommend alternative materials or components to improve cost-effectiveness and supply chain resilience without compromising product performance.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and procurement to implement approved material substitutions and document specification changes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration Engineering, or a related field.
Hands-on experience supporting or leading assembly production lines in a manufacturing environment.
Strong experience with BOM management, and optimization in a manufacturing with SAP system context.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for mechanical design and modeling.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Excellent communication skills, with experience collaborating across engineering, production, and supply chain teams.
Familiarity with quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
Implemented in the past material substitutions to optimize inventory and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
EPA Section 608 Refrigerant Certification for handling refrigerants is highly desirable.
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in refrigeration, HVAC, or related manufacturing environments, preferably in assembly line settings.
Experience with TeamCenter - product lifecycle management (PLM) software from Siemens
Experience with risk mitigation, quality gate-keepers and process optimization in assembly line production settings.
Knowledge of systems, components, and relevant regulatory standards (including EPA Section 608 certification preferred).
