Salary: 75 - 85k DOE annually
Nexture Bio is seeking a skilled and motivated Biomaterials Research Associate to support the production of advanced biomaterials and encapsulation technologies for nutraceutical applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on industry experience with the formation of biopolymers through various methods, contributing to innovative product development and process optimization. This full-time in-person position will work in a GMP facility where you will support R&D and production.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in the development and scale-up activities of electrospun products
- Support pilot-scale production and tech-transfer for biomaterial products.
- Operate and maintain equipment for experimental and production activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including tissue engineers, product developers, and R&D staff.
- Document research findings, methods, and production techniques, ensuring traceability and reproducibility.
- Create and maintain quality and process SOPs in collaboration with the QA/QC team
- Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and suggest new technologies for Nexture Bio’s processes.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s with a minimum of 1 year in industry in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in materials engineering, ideally in scale-up and manufacturing of polymer materials or biomaterials.
- Familiarity with electrospinning equipment is preferred. Experience with electrospraying, extrusion techniques, and other processes, including covalent conjugation and synthesis is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
- Proficiency with performing basic bench chemistry procedures such as solution preparation
- Familiarity with plant proteins and food science preferred.
- Can lift to 25lbs
