Account Development Specialist
The Account Development Specialist plays a fundamental role in achieving customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives by sourcing new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound calls and e-mails. They will build relationships and understand customer business in order to provide appropriate products or solutions that make Barentz Always a better solution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *
Position/Department
Develop and implement individualized and detailed sales strategies to maintain and grow Barentz’ market presence and gross profit
Prompt follow-up on company and principal supplied leads
Move prospects through the sales process to secure new business, utilizing CRM software to monitor progress and document interactions
Incorporate appropriate sales techniques when prospecting new customers, ensuring effective communication of Barentz’ brand and market presence
Utilize product knowledge and sales experience to clearly deliver the value proposition to customers, existing and new
Sustain and improve upon the level of service offered to our customers via unique and new service initiatives to ensure we are making Barentz Always a better solution.
Represent Barentz as a leader in the industry through conferences, industry events, social media platforms, networking events, etc.
Build and maintain relationships with customers, creating a network of resources for the future
Prepare and deliver sales presentations and product demonstrations, where applicable, either in person or virtually
Address customer questions, concerns and inquiries with a sense of urgency and accuracy
Send quotes to new/existing customer and sample requests, etc., as required
Participate in new product introductions, training, joint sales calls, and testing
Issue timely reporting of customer issues and opportunities through call reports, emails, phone calls, and other means of communication
Leadership/ Teamwork
Collaborate with Management and outside sales as needed on specific accounts within their territory
Serve as a liaison with Principal Management and Key Supplier(s) on specific accounts within the assigned territory
Communicate with other Account Development Specialists throughout the organization to stay up to date on customers and trends
Continuous Improvement/Problem Solving
Ensure adherence to all applicable facility requirements, certifications and designations
Contribute to and support continuous improvement of our processes and systems
Seek opportunities to share best practices with the team, support staff and other divisions
Systems
Barentz specific systems, including but not limited to BRM, Vizion, Chempax, Datacor, Sharepoint, etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or other Sciences (preferred)
Master’s degree in Chemistry or other Sciences (Preferred) or combination of Bachelor’s degree and relative experience
Experience
Technical Training for assigned industry (i.e., Food Technology, Animal Science, Regulatory, formulations, end user applications, certifications, etc.) (required)
Demonstrated sales success (preferred)
Certifications
Any industry related certification (i.e., Sales Techniques, Project Management, Regulatory, Quality Management, etc.) (preferred/encouraged)
Position/Product/Industry Requirements
Experience using industry related technologies and equipment
Professional sales management discipline including the use of CRM, documentation of sales activities (call reports, account plans, customer/prospect profiles, itineraries, account profitability review) and development of a territory plan
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Self-motivated, high energy, and engaging level of enthusiasm and positive outlook
Ability and desire to develop meaningful/productive business relationships at all levels
Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt communication style to the audience as needed
Ability to quickly comprehend and understand formulations and end user applications
Software knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
Must be able to effectively prioritize work assignments for self and others
Demonstrated exceptional organizational, presentation, negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills
Fluent in English, a second language would be considered an asset
Strong calculation, organizational, and problem-solving skills
