Acting Instructor Intern

Position Overview
 

Teatro Tariakuri Dance and Theatre Performing Arts is seeking a passionate, motivated and dependable Acting Instructor Intern to join our team. This internship is designed for individuals who are interested not only in theatre instruction, but also in learning the day-to-day operations of running a performing arts school.

 

This hands-on opportunity to gain experience in teaching, production management, directing, arts administration, studio management, event coordination, and facility operations within a professional performing arts environment.
 

Responsibilities

  • Assist and/or teach acting classes
  • Lead warm-ups, exercises, and engaging lesson plans
  • Prepare musical productions for performances, showcases and events
  • Organize, inventory, maintain costumes and props
  • Support students during classes, rehearsals, and events
  • Assist with scheduling, attendance, organization
  • Help prepare materials for classes, events, and productions
  • Assist with social media content and promotional activities
  • Support setup and breakdown for classes, rehearsals, and performances
  • Ensure studios remain safe and presentation-ready
  • Assist front desk and studio administrative tasks
  • Participate in general upkeep and operational tasks
     

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from college or university
  • Background in theatre, acting, or performing arts
  • Dance training is desirable, but not required
  • Interest in arts education and leadership
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Professionalism and reliability
  • Willingness to learn and grow
  • Experience working with children is a plus
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required
     

Schedule

  • 75 hours total - 15 weeks total (5 hours a week)
  • Evenings and some weekend availability required
  • Additional hours for events, performances and studio needs

 

Compensation

  • College Credit (speak with your advisor)
  • Stipend fee
