Designer
East Side Design & Build is currently seeking an experienced individual to join our professional design team. We are a renovation company specializing in kitchen and bath renovations in New York City. This is a great opportunity for students who have graduated and are looking for a full-time job within the design build company. The position is NOT remote or hybrid; you would be working in our showroom, located in the busy and exciting area of the UES.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Space planning & sketching
- Meeting with current and prospective clients; presenting designs and proposals
- Working with architects and other design professionals
- Communicating with vendors, contractors, fabricators, etc
- Corresponding with clients and leads; sales experience and dealing directly with clients is a must.
- Making site visits
- Selecting and sourcing materials
- Accurate translation of rough measures into working designs under tight deadlines.
The desired applicant will have:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (20-20 also plus)
- Passion for design
- Previous kitchen & bathroom design experience (1-2 years preferred), with portfolio presentation.
- A detail-oriented, organized disposition.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of QuickBooks a plus.
