About the position:
As an Speech Therapist you will assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to improving the quality of life for patients, using evidence-based therapy techniques and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and specific needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to patients in one-on-one or group settings.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about speech, language, and swallowing disorders, as well as treatment plans.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Advocate for the speech and language needs of patients within the healthcare team and community.
- Stay current with best practices and developments in speech therapy through continuing education and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current and valid licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in California.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
