The Minnesota Blue Ox Junior Hockey Club is seeking a creative, motivated, and hockey-minded Social Media Intern to help grow the Blue Ox brand while gaining hands-on experience in sports marketing, content creation, and fan engagement.
This is an opportunity to work directly with a Tier II NCDC junior hockey organization and create content seen by players, fans, sponsors, and hockey families across North America.
Position Overview
The Social Media Intern will play a key role in telling the story of the Minnesota Blue Ox through engaging content, gameday coverage, player features, sponsor recognition, and fan interaction.
The ideal candidate is creative, self-motivated, and excited to create content using modern social media, video, design, and AI-powered tools.
Responsibilities
- The Social Media Intern will be responsible for creating and publishing 10–15 pieces of content per week, including:
- Gameday announcements
- Game recaps and final scores
- Player signing and commitment announcements
- Player interviews and feature stories
- Sponsor and community partner highlights
- Fan engagement posts and interactive content
- Team news and organizational updates
Additional responsibilities include:
- Creating and editing video reels for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other platforms
- Capturing gameday photos and behind-the-scenes content
- Assisting with photography at games, practices, camps, and community events
- Managing live gameday social media coverage
- Helping grow engagement and reach across all social media platforms
- Assisting with graphic design and content planning
- Utilizing AI-powered creative tools to assist with graphic design, video editing, captions, content ideas, and fan engagement initiatives
- Working with coaches, staff, players, and sponsors to create compelling content that showcases the Blue Ox experience
What We’re Looking For
- Passion for sports, hockey, marketing, or content creation
- Experience with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other social media platforms
- Experience creating content using modern design tools such as Canva, Adobe products, AI-assisted design platforms, and video editing software
- Strong communication and storytelling skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Creative thinker who is willing to try new ideas
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Photography and videography experience is a plus but not required

Compensation
This is a paid internship position. Compensation will be discussed based on experience, availability, and scope of responsibilities.
