About Bosly’s Backyard: 

Bosly's Backyard is a one-of-a-kind indoor dog recreation and enrichment center in Chicago's Ravenswood neighborhood. We specialize in creating stress-free, joy-filled experiences for dogs and their people through private play sessions, small social groups, dog birthday parties, dog sport classes, fundraising events, photography events, and community gatherings.

We're passionate about helping dogs and their humans live happier lives—and we love sharing those stories online.

About the Role:

Are you creative, organized, and obsessed with social media? Do you love dogs and enjoy creating engaging content that makes people stop scrolling?

We're looking for a Social Media & Content Creator to help bring the Bosly's Backyard brand to life through photos, videos, reels, stories, email marketing, and community-focused content.

This position is ideal for a marketing, communications, journalism, advertising, or digital media student—or anyone looking to build real-world social media and content creation experience with a growing small business.

We're looking for someone who understands that great marketing isn't just about likes and views—it's about building community, increasing engagement, and helping drive participation in our services, classes, events, and programs.

This is a flexible part-time position averaging approximately 8–10 hours per week, including some weekend and evening availability for content capture and events.

What You'll Do

Content Creation & Social Media

• Capture photo and video content during appointments, classes, parties, and events
• Create engaging Instagram Reels, Stories, posts, and short-form videos
• Assist with content planning and monthly content calendars
• Write captions consistent with Bosly's Backyard's voice and brand
• Schedule and publish content across social media platforms
• Research trends, audio, hashtags, and content ideas
• Monitor engagement and identify content that performs well
• Repurpose content across multiple platforms

Email Marketing & Promotions

• Assist with the creation of weekly email newsletters and promotional campaigns
• Help develop content and messaging that supports event registrations, class enrollment, appointments, and community engagement
• Create graphics, photos, and videos for use in email marketing
• Track campaign performance and identify opportunities to improve engagement and conversions

Events & Community Marketing

• Attend select events to capture content and support marketing efforts
• Assist with event promotion and community outreach
• Help identify influencer, partnership, and collaboration opportunities
• Support marketing initiatives that help increase awareness, attendance, and bookings

Content Organization & Reporting

• Organize and maintain a library of photos and videos for future marketing use
• Track social media and email performance metrics
• Identify high-performing content and marketing opportunities
• Bring creative ideas and recommendations to help grow the business

What We're Looking For

• Strong interest in social media, content creation, marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field
• Comfortable filming and photographing dogs and people
• Experience creating Instagram Reels, TikToks, and short-form video content
• Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express, or similar tools
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Organized, dependable, and able to meet deadlines
• Self-starter who takes initiative and enjoys working independently
• Creative thinker who enjoys storytelling and bringing ideas to life
• Positive attitude and genuine love for dogs

Bonus Qualifications

• Photography or videography experience
• Experience managing business social media accounts
• Familiarity with Meta Business Suite, Flodesk, and social media analytics
• Experience attending or promoting community events
• Basic understanding of email marketing and audience engagement

Schedule & Location

• Approximately 8–10 hours per week
• Flexible scheduling
• Some on-site content capture required, including occasional evenings and weekends
• Located in Chicago's Ravenswood neighborhood

Compensation

Paid internship or part-time position. $18–25/hour depending on experience, portfolio, and demonstrated skills.
