Reports To: Lead Pastor
Status: Part-Time
Expected Hours: 8–10 Hours Per Week
Compensation: $20–$25 Per Hour Based on Experience
Work Arrangement: Primarily Remote (DFW Candidates Preferred)
Position Summary
Gathering on The Rock Church (GoRock) is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and ministry-minded individual to serve as our Ministry Operations & Communications Coordinator. This person will help create excellent worship experiences by managing Planning Center services, coordinating volunteers, and overseeing key church communications. Through organization, communication, and ministry support, this role helps remove distractions so people can experience and expand God's Kingdom Agenda. Most responsibilities for this role can be completed remotely. The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage deadlines independently while maintaining consistent communication with church leadership.
Success Looks Like
- Volunteers are scheduled at least two weeks in advance.
- Sunday services are fully built in Planning Center by Wednesday each week.
- Monthly newsletters are distributed on schedule.
- Sermon Deeper Dive resources are delivered consistently.
- Ministry leaders receive timely communication and support.
- Church communication is clear, professional, and consistent.
Primary Responsibilities
Planning Center Administration
- Create and manage weekly worship services within Planning Center.
- Schedule volunteers for ministry teams through Planning Center.
- Coordinate volunteer assignments and communicate scheduling updates.
- Ensure service plans, volunteer positions, and team assignments are accurate and up to date.
- Assist ministry leaders with Planning Center processes and troubleshooting.
Church Communications
- Create and distribute a professional monthly church newsletter.
- Gather ministry updates, announcements, and upcoming events for publication.
- Maintain consistency in church branding, messaging, and communication standards.
- Coordinate communication with ministry leaders to ensure accurate information.
Sermon Resources
- Create and distribute monthly Sermon Deeper Dive documents.
- Organize sermon notes, discussion questions, scripture references, and application points.
- Ensure resources are delivered on schedule and accessible to members.
Additional Ministry Support
- Maintain church communication calendars and deadlines.
- Assist with guest follow-up and ministry communication projects.
- Update church events and announcements as needed.
- Track volunteer scheduling needs and identify potential gaps in coverage.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Planning Center experience preferred.
- Canva proficiency preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Project management and organizational ability.
- Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with church ministry environments.
- Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Gathering on The Rock Church.
