Department Assistant

In the City Attorney’s Office

$22 - $24/hour, depending on experience

 

The City of Livermore is looking for administrative support to fill a part-time temporary position (no benefits).  Reporting directly to the Law Office Supervisor, this position will provide administrative support in the City Attorney’s Office. 

 

Examples of duties include:

 

  • Retrieve and Distribute Mail
  • Answer and Direct Phone calls
  • General Office Maintenance
  • Process Legal Services Invoices 
  • Maintain Law Library and Inventory
  • Maintain Inventory for Office Supplies & Supply Ordering
  • Purchasing Card Reconciliations
  • Create & Maintain up-to-date Files
  • Update and Maintain Legal Expense Reports
  • Maintain and Update Content on Department Web Page
  • Data Entry
  • Complete Administrative & Legal Projects as Assigned
  • Work effectively under the pressure of deadlines
  • Communicate and relate effectively with those contacted in the course of work

 

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of Microsoft Office Systems, including MS Word; MS Excel; MS PowerPoint; and MS Outlook. Candidate must be willing and able to work in a standard office and provide various support to multiple managers and other duties as assigned; communicate effectively, in-person, email, and over the telephone; while providing excellent customer service. This position requires in-person work. City Hall business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.  We are flexible with the hours assigned, though not to exceed 29 hours per week.
