Editorial & Administrative Intern

Company Description: Power Communications, LLC is a boutique, independent publishing company,  operated in Washington, DC. Our mission is to empower young people through imaginative storytelling and help foster a lifelong love of reading through our books. We prioritize uplifting marginalized voices and values through motivational stories.

We currently have an opening for an unpaid Editorial & Administrative Intern for the summer and fall semesters. We will work with the intern’s school to meet any requirements for the intern to receive school credit for their work at Power Communications, LLC. We would like the intern to be available to work remotely  4-6 hours per week.
 

Position Description: 

As an Editorial & Administrative Intern you will be supporting our day to day operations, special events and expansion. All applicants for this position should be reliable, motivated and detail oriented. Duties will include:

  • Conducting research and managing mailing lists
  • Assisting with event planning and coordination
  • Preparing communications such as memos, emails, and invitations
  • Helping draft promotional content for social media
  • Helping with basic graphic design tasks using Canva or other apps
  • Providing general support to authors
     

Requirements:

  • Must be currently enrolled in undergraduate program
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Basic understanding of editing tools like Canva
  • Strong traditional research skills (must not rely on ChatGPT)
