Metallurgist – Key Responsibilities
🧪 Metallurgical Testing & Support
- Lead metallurgical testing for product quality, process control, and customer requirements
- Review test results and ensure compliance with specifications
- Provide technical expertise in casting, heat treatment, and material performance
- Support failure investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Act as the go-to expert for aerospace alloys (ferrous, nickel, cobalt)
🏭 Laboratory Leadership
- Supervise lab team and daily testing operations
- Prioritize workload to meet production and customer timelines
- Ensure equipment is calibrated and operating correctly
- Drive continuous improvement and team development
✅ Quality & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with NADCAP, customer, and internal standards
- Support audits and ensure accurate documentation
- Review non-conforming material and support disposition decisions
- Lead or assist with corrective action initiatives
🤝 Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams
- Review customer specs and align with company capabilities
- Support new product launches and process improvements
🔍 General
- Promote safety and continuous improvement
- Support overall business objectives
🎓 Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or related field
- 1+ years in metallurgy, materials, or aerospace manufacturing
- Experience with investment casting & heat treatment metal characteristic
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
