Psychological & Stress Management, PC / Hispanic Family Mental Health Center is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and culturally responsive doctoral-level psychology candidate for a clinical position in New York City.
This position is ideal for a recent graduate of a PhD or PsyD program in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or a closely related doctoral psychology program who is eligible for a New York State psychology limited permit and is seeking supervised clinical experience toward licensure. New York State licensed psychologists are also encouraged to apply.
This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who is interested not only in developing strong clinical, assessment, and forensic documentation skills, but also in growing within an established multicultural mental health practice. Our practice serves a diverse population, with a strong focus on immigrant families, trauma survivors, and individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, domestic violence, family separation, and immigration-related stressors. The clinician will receive supervised training, mentorship, and/or professional support in trauma-informed clinical care, psychological assessment, diagnostic formulation, clinical documentation, and immigration-related forensic psychological evaluations.
Position Responsibilities
The clinician’s responsibilities may include:
- Conducting clinical interviews and psychological evaluations
- Administering, scoring, and interpreting psychological assessment measures
- Preparing comprehensive psychological evaluation reports
- Providing trauma-informed psychotherapy and supportive clinical services, as assigned
- Participating in weekly supervision, case consultation, and clinical training, as applicable
- Developing diagnostic formulations and treatment recommendations
- Maintaining timely, accurate, and ethical clinical documentation
- Working with culturally diverse clients, including immigrant and minority populations
- Collaborating professionally with attorneys, administrative staff, and clinical supervisors when appropriate
- Contributing to program development, clinical systems, and service expansion as the role grows
The clinician would receive training and supervised experience in immigration-related psychological evaluations, including hardship waivers, asylum, VAWA, U visa, T visa, cancellation of removal, and related cases.
Qualifications
Applicants must have one of the following:
- A doctoral degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or a closely related psychology program
- Completion of all doctoral requirements and eligibility for a New York State psychology limited permit
- Current New York State psychology limited permit
- Current New York State psychologist license
Additional qualifications:
- Spanish-English bilingual ability is required
- Strong clinical writing skills
- Interest in trauma, immigrant mental health, psychological assessment, and forensic psychological documentation
- Commitment to ethical practice, cultural sensitivity, and high-quality clinical care
- Genuine interest in working with immigrant, minority, and culturally diverse populations
- Interest in long-term professional growth, leadership development, and practice-building is strongly valued
Prior experience with psychological testing, trauma-informed care, immigration evaluations, forensic report writing, or working with Spanish-speaking populations is preferred.
Supervision, Training, and Growth Opportunities
For limited permit eligible candidates, the position includes supervision from a New York State licensed psychologist. Supervised hours may be structured to support New York State psychology licensure requirements, subject to applicable NYSED rules and approval of the limited permit. For already licensed psychologists, the position offers professional collaboration, case consultation, and mentorship in immigration-related forensic psychological evaluations, trauma-informed assessment, and culturally responsive clinical documentation.
