Day School Coordinator
Position Summary:
The Day School Coordinator serves as a leader within the school community, supporting the daily operations of the school while fostering a Christ-centered environment for students, families, and staff. This position oversees day-to-day administrative functions (including scheduling), assists with staff supervision, ensures compliance with school policies and licensing requirements, and promotes the school's mission of providing academic excellence grounded in biblical truth.
Qualifications:
- Committed Christian with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Agreement with and support of the school's Statement of Faith and Mission.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in school administration, education, or childcare management preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Knowledge of state licensing requirements and school regulations preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and school management software.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership and Administration
- Assist in the daily management and operation of the school.
- Support the School Director in implementing school policies and procedures.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the program and in the Director's absence.
- Maintain accurate school records and documentation.
- Coordinate school events, programs, and activities.
- Assist with budgeting, purchasing, and resource management.
Staff Support and Supervision
- Support teachers and staff through coaching, encouragement, and problem-solving.
- Manage staff scheduling and classroom coverage.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback as directed.
- Help facilitate staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Admissions and Curriculum Advisor for pacing and assessing.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and Christ-centered workplace culture.
Student and Family Relations
- Build positive relationships with students and families.
- Address parent concerns in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Support student behavior management using biblical principles and school policies.
- Assist with student enrollment, registration, and transitions between classrooms.
- Communicate school information effectively to families.
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure compliance with all licensing, health, safety, and accreditation requirements.
- Maintain student and staff records in accordance with state regulations.
- Assist with emergency preparedness plans and safety drills.
- Monitor facility needs and report maintenance concerns.
Spiritual Leadership
- Model Christian character and biblical values in all interactions.
- Support the integration of faith into the daily life of the school.
- Participate in school devotions, prayer, chapel services, and special events.
- Encourage students and staff in their spiritual growth.
- Foster an environment that reflects Christ's love, grace, and truth.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move throughout the school building and playground areas.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to supervise students in both indoor and outdoor settings.
