Position Overview
We are seeking a Nonprofit Management Intern to support the operational and strategic functions of Chase Sanctuary. This role works closely with leadership on organizational systems, program development, compliance, volunteer management, and internal communications.
This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in nonprofit administration, organizational management, social impact, operational leadership and project planning, execution, and cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Organizational Systems
Assist with developing and improving internal workflows and standard operating procedures
Help organize and maintain administrative files, documentation, and shared systems (Google Drive, spreadsheets)
Support the implementation of operational tools and process improvements
Track action items and follow-ups from leadership meetings
Program Development & Reporting
Assist with designing and documenting program structures (internship program, volunteer program, education initiatives)
Help develop impact metrics and program evaluation tools
Support outcome reporting for donors, board members, and grant funders
Research best practices in sanctuary operations and nonprofit program design
Volunteer & Intern Coordination
Support volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling
Assist with internship program coordination and documentation
Help maintain volunteer and intern records and hours tracking
Contribute to improving the volunteer and intern experience
Board & Leadership Support
Assist with preparation of materials for board meetings (agendas, reports, summaries)
Help maintain board documentation and governance records
Research nonprofit compliance requirements and best practices
Support strategic planning activities as directed by leadership
Fundraising & Development Support
Assist with donor communications, acknowledgments, and stewardship
Support annual fundraising campaigns and special events
Help maintain donor tracking and CRM records
Research funding opportunities and prospect lists
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
Assist with building relationships with community organizations and stakeholders
Support communication and coordination with partners and collaborators
Help develop outreach materials for community-facing initiatives
Project Management & Execution
Build and maintain project timelines, task trackers, and progress dashboards for active sanctuary initiatives
Coordinate cross-departmental projects, ensuring deadlines, owners, and deliverables are clearly defined
Run weekly check-ins and document action items, blockers, and next steps
Identify bottlenecks in active projects and propose solutions to leadership
Support the implementation of project management tools (Asana, Trello, or similar)

Ideal Candidate
Studying or recently graduated in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, or related field
Strong organizational, analytical, and written communication skills
Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple priorities
Interest in wildlife conservation, social impact, and mission-driven organizations
Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with the team
Familiarity with project management tools (Asana, Trello, Notion, or similar) is a plus
