Public Relations Internship Part-Time for Nonprofit theater company (remote)

Shine A Light Theatre, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is looking for an intern for a Public Relations position to help us promote our one-act play and solo storytelling show at the Hollywood Fringe Festival on the Hudson Theater mainstage in Hollywood. While this is unpaid, we're offering a modest monthly stipend of $200 for each month.

The internship is for two months in June and July. Position starts ASAP!

Our play tells the story of a son caring for his mother who has Alzheimer's.  This original one-act also features live storytelling. 

The solo storytelling show is about coming of age in Malibu. 

We need YOUR skills to reach them.

This internship is part-time and mostly remote position, 20 hours a week. We’ll require you to help take tickets at the theater for 4 dates week of June 22, 2026 (in Hollywood, CA).

LIST OF DUTIES:

  • Build and execute a publicity campaign for a live theater production
  • Reach out to press, bloggers & local media
  • Engage the Hollywood Fringe Festival online community
  • Reach out to potential sponsors for collaboration and other types of support
  •  Own a real campaign from launch to curtain call and beyond

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of social media and digital platforms
  • Ability to work well in a team and under pressure
  • Good organization and multitasking abilities
  • Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications is a plus
  • Must have your own transportation
  • Though this is mostly remote, we do require some in-person help to take tickets 4 days, so you must live in the LA/Orange/San Diego/San Bernadino County area.
