inkWorks Printing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pre-Press Intern to support our growing digital print and packaging operation. This internship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is ideal for someone interested in graphic design, print production, packaging, or digital workflow management.

In this role, you will contribute to the preparation and organization of customer artwork and production files while learning the fundamentals of pre-press operations in a collaborative, quality-focused team.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-time, approximately 10–20 hours per week
  • Flexible scheduling based on class availability
  • Hourly pay: $18/hr
  • Internship duration: Summer or semester-based

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare customer artwork for digital printing and production.
  • Set up files for output on digital press equipment.
  • Review artwork for print readiness, including bleeds, sizing, layers, and overall accuracy.
  • Complete detailed, repetitive workflow tasks with consistency and precision.
  • Help move projects efficiently through pre-press and production stages.
  • Organize files and maintain established production standards.
  • Collaborate with customer service, production, and scheduling teams to support workflow needs.
  • Assist with process improvement and workflow organization initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage repetitive tasks with accuracy, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn in a hands-on environment.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced setting with shifting priorities.
  • Basic experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop preferred.
  • Interest in printing, packaging, manufacturing, or graphic design.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with digital printing or packaging artwork.
  • Understanding of layers, dielines, bleeds, and color setup.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
