Family Ministry Director
The Family Ministry Director at Woodside Bible Church, Farmington Hills Campus, is responsible for the spiritual development and discipleship of children, students, and their families. This role provides leadership and oversight to both the Kids Ministry and Student Ministry, ensuring alignment with Woodside’s mission and ministry DNA. The Family Ministry Director shepherds volunteers and equips parents to be the primary spiritual influencers in their children’s lives, cultivating an environment where families are supported, leaders are empowered, and the next generation is anchored in a gospel-centered foundation.

Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; ministry or Christian education preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in children’s, student, or family ministry leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to lead within a multi-staff or multi-site church environment.
- Familiarity with Woodside’s philosophy of ministry and alignment with the DNA and distinctives of both Kids and Student Ministry.
- Lives in accordance with the biblical qualifications for church leadership (1 Timothy 3, Ephesians 4–5).
Primary Responsibilities:
Leadership and Oversight
- Provides visionary leadership and day-to-day oversight for both Kids and Student Ministry at the campus.
- Develops healthy volunteer teams through recruiting, training, equipping, and shepherding leaders.
- Leads the implementation of Woodside’s ministry DNA for both Kids and Student Ministry in collaboration with the Central/Hub teams.
- Oversees and executes weekend and midweek programming for birth–12th grade, ensuring excellence, safety, and spiritual depth.
Family Engagement and Equipping
- Partners with parents and guardians to equip them as primary disciple-makers in their homes.
- Provides parent-focused training, communication, and encouragement opportunities.
- Oversees and facilitates family milestone events, including child dedication and student baptism training.
Strategic Ministry Alignment
- Collaborates with Central Kids and Student Ministry teams to ensure alignment of curriculum, programming, and leadership development.
- Evaluates and refines ministry programs regularly to ensure effectiveness and mission alignment.
- Leads the integration of Kids and Student Ministry into one unified Family Ministry strategy.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Maintains oversight of Family Ministry spaces, including environment, safety, and aesthetics.
- Manages Family Ministry budgets, submitting proposals and tracking expenses.
- Provides strategic support and representation for campus participation in major multi-site events, including:
- Middle school and high school ministry events and retreats
- Hope 365 and Flip Camp
Administrative and Collaboration Responsibilities:
- Oversees all curriculum, volunteer scheduling, event planning, and communication within Kids and Student Ministry.
- Monitors and supports the spiritual and relational health of volunteers.
- Conducts regular evaluation of ministry programs and events for impact and improvement.
- Collaborates consistently with Hub Directors for Kids and Students Ministry.
