The Role
We’re looking for an IT intern who can keep our day-to-day technology running smoothly and quietly. You’ll be the person our team turns to when something isn’t working, and the one who notices small problems before they become big ones. This is a hands-on, in-person role at our downtown office for the full 90 days.
One thing to know up front: we don’t have an in-house IT department. You’ll report to senior leadership, who will set priorities and support you fully — but they aren’t technical experts. That means this role is a real opportunity to take ownership, work independently, and have your judgment trusted. If you like being handed the keys, you’ll like it here.
What You’ll Do
- Set up, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, monitors, and peripherals
- Troubleshoot everyday hardware, software, network, and printer issues across the office
- Support our Microsoft 365 environment — accounts, permissions, email, and shared files
- Help onboard new team members by preparing their equipment and access
- Keep an organized inventory of devices, licenses, and logins
- Maintain good security hygiene — updates, backups, and safe everyday practices
- Write clear, plain-language notes so the next person can follow what you did
Who We’re Looking For
- Self-directed. You’re comfortable working with little supervision, managing your own time, and figuring things out without someone over your shoulder.
- Genuinely knowledgeable. You have real, working IT skills — not just classroom theory — and you can apply them to unfamiliar problems.
- A clear communicator. You can explain a technical issue to a non-technical person calmly and without jargon. (“Calm before clever” is how we operate.)
- Trustworthy. You’ll have access to sensitive systems and information. Discretion and reliability matter as much as skill.
- Service-minded. You see helping a coworker with a frozen screen as part of the job, not an interruption to it.
Pursuing or holding a degree or certification in IT, information systems, computer science, or a related field is a plus, but demonstrated ability matters most.
