Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher to join our dedicated team at New St. Paul Head Start Agency, Inc. in Detroit. In this role, you will play a crucial part in fostering a nurturing environment that supports the growth and development of young children, while also engaging their families in the educational process.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging curriculum tailored to the needs of young children.
- Foster a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Collaborate with families to promote child development and educational success.
- Assess children's progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a positive learning atmosphere.
- Provide individualized support for children with special needs or developmental delays.
- Facilitate early intervention strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of children's development and classroom activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Proven experience working with young children in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and practices.
- Familiarity with curriculum development and lesson planning.
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with children and families.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics positively.
- Preferred: Experience in special education or early intervention programs.
