High School High Tech Program Coordinator
POSITION: High School High Tech (HSHT) Program Coordinator - The Arc Jacksonville
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Coordinate and supervise the activities of the High School High Tech program which include careers, educational, and development services for students with disabilities.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Assistant Vice President, Education Services

- Immediately report any emergency situations or potential safety hazards to the supervisor, as well as information obtained that may affect the health, safety and/or services for a person.
- Review and comply with all Agency policies, procedures and directives, as well as those issued by the Agency for Persons with Disabilities.
- Maintain appropriate dress, good hygiene and professional behavior and conduct that reflects positively on the agency’s mission and the people it serves.
Program Specific Functions:
- Oversee and manage the High School High Tech (HSHT) program for young adults with disabilities located in Clay, Duval, and St Johns Counties to include the implementation of the Guideposts for Success.
- Work collaboratively with the ESE departments in each county to promote the transition programs at The Arc Jacksonville.
- Serve as the recruiter for the high school population, facilitating new students in to the HSHT program, and then transitioning those interested in to On Campus Transition Program at UNF and Career Campus.
- Be able to speak thoroughly about all three transition programs and attend transition program events.
- Market and maintain positive, constructive relationships with program supporters, education systems, referring agencies, funding sources, business community, families and the community at large.
- Assist HSHT families with Vocational Rehabilitation enrollment.
- Oversee the development of marketing materials.
- Coordination of kick-off and end-of-year recognition events.
- Develop and maintain a Business Advisory Committee (BAC) in support of the local HSHT program that includes membership from the business community and civic groups representing members of the business community in each county and hold three meetings during the year.
- Implement HSHT policies and procedures, memorandums of understanding, and other agreements.
- Establish yearly goals and objectives for the project that are in alignment with state goals and programs expectations.
- Attends IEP meetings and other student support meetings as appropriate.
- Write/submit evaluations, progress notes and other documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Submit quarterly program reports as required by The Able Trust.
- Maintain bi-weekly contact with individual students at a minimum.
- Arrange for business site visits, skill development workshops, and summer internships.
Essential Functions:
- Ongoing, responsible supervision of students to assure safety, comfort, and protection of individual rights. The levels of that supervision are dictated by the needs of the individuals and policies of each distinct program setting.
- The ability to perform required responsibilities in all settings without direct supervision.
- To educate and promote awareness of the agency's philosophy and mission through community involvement.
- Maintenance of appropriate dress, good hygiene and professional behavior and conduct that reflects positively on the agency’s mission and the people it serves.
- Identification with and commitment to the agency's values of respect and dignity for people served, the right of people with disabilities to control their own lives as fully as possible, and the importance of integration into the community for people with disabilities and to believe in and advocate for the right of people with disabilities to participate in community life to the fullest extent possible.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in one of the included or related areas: Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Disability Services, Social Work/Welfare, Higher Education, Business, and/or Public Health.
- Excellent writing, public speaking, presentation, research and evaluation, and management skills, proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word and Adobe software.
- Knowledge of current needs and anticipated future needs of persons with developmental disabilities regarding career, educational, and development services. Knowledge of community resources and services for persons with disabilities and disability services required.
- Ability to drive The Arc Jacksonville vehicles
Salary: $45,000-$55,000
