Social Studies Teacher

We are seeking a part-time Social Studies Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role provides a unique opportunity to work with students in a restorative learning environment that prioritizes both academic and emotional development.

Buxmont Academy is a licensed private academic school in Pennsylvania dedicated to supporting at-risk students through restorative practices. With 6 campuses in southeastern PA, we create an environment where students thrive academically and emotionally. Our small class sizes and high teacher-to-student ratios allow us to foster meaningful connections and positive growth.

Key Details:

Hourly Rate: $25/hour

Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am-12pm. Additional hours may be available.

Location: Woodlyn, PA

About the Role:

As a social studies teacher at Buxmont Academy, you will have the opportunity to inspire students in grades 7-12 to think critically and grow both academically and emotionally. You'll create engaging and personalized lessons that foster academic success while using restorative practices to build trust, empathy, and community within the classroom. Working closely with a collaborative team of educators, you will help students not only succeed in their coursework but also develop important life skills. Qualifications:

• Holds a bachelor's degree (or higher) in Social Studies Education or related field, and either a PA teaching certification or the ability to obtain private teaching certification.
• Has strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
• Is passionate about history, education, and student success.
• Demonstrates flexibility in lesson planning and experience in differentiating instruction for diverse learners.
