Position Summary
The City Kids Director is responsible for executing the vision and strategy established by the Executive Team for City Kids (Birth–12 years).
This leader will build healthy ministry systems, develop volunteer leaders, create exceptional environments for children and families, and ensure the consistent execution of City Church Chicago's discipleship strategy for the next generation.
The ideal candidate is a builder, developer, and organizer who thrives at turning vision into reality through strong teams, healthy systems, and excellent execution.
Primary Areas of Responsibility
Team Development
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop volunteer leaders.
- Build leadership pipelines for City Kids teams.
- Create clear onboarding, training, and development pathways.
- Foster a healthy and engaging volunteer culture.
Ministry Execution
- Execute ministry initiatives established by executive leadership.
- Oversee all City Kids weekend environments and programming.
- Ensure excellence in safety, curriculum delivery, check-in, and family experience.
- Maintain ministry standards, systems, and processes.
Family Discipleship
- Support church-wide discipleship strategies for children and families.
- Equip parents with resources and tools for spiritual formation at home.
- Help connect families into broader church pathways.
Cross-Department Collaboration
- Work closely with Communications, Production, Events, Operations, Internal Systems, and Pastoral Care teams.
- Coordinate kids ministry initiatives across church services, discipleship programming, and events.
- Participate in church-wide planning and execution efforts.
