As we scale, we are building a robust operational foundation and a dynamic team culture at our Corporate Headquarters. We seek a motivated, detail-oriented Bilingual Staff Accountant to join our Finance Department and grow with us.
Position Overview
- Role: Staff Accountant (Full-Time)
- Location: O2 K-BBQ Corporate HQ (Guttenberg, NJ)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM (30-minute lunch break)
- Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 / year (Commensurate with experience)
Key Responsibilities
As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial health of our corporate entity and multiple restaurant locations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Multi-Unit Accounting: Manage, review, and streamline daily accounting activities and general ledger accounts for multiple restaurant locations.
- AP/AR & Vendor Management: Review and process vendor invoices, operating expenses, rent payments, and lease-related documents; coordinate directly with vendors, landlords, and corporate partners.
- Bookkeeping & Journal Entries: Prepare journal entries related to restaurant operations, accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets; support tracking for new store opening expenses.
- Reconciliation: Perform timely reconciliation of bank accounts, credit card transactions, and intercompany records.
- Financial Analysis: Monitor and analyze restaurant P&L reports, food costs, inventory, and operational expense trends.
- Closing Support: Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Act as the primary financial liaison for restaurant management teams regarding accounting, invoice, and payment discrepancies.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Support accounting workflow improvements and complete special finance projects assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field preferred.
- Experience: 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience required. (Talented recent graduates with strong internship experience are welcome to apply).
- Language Skills: Must be fully Bilingual in Korean and English (Written and Verbal) – REQUIRED.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookup, pivot tables) and accounting software systems (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in restaurant, hospitality, retail, or multi-unit business models is a major plus.
- Core Competencies: Strong understanding of GAAP and journal entries; exceptional organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
