National Petroleum Management Corporation is a professional aviation fueling association dedicated to advancing aviation fueling safety, innovation, education, certification, and leadership across military and commercial sectors of the aviation fuel industry. Internship Overview

NPMC is seeking a motivated and creative college student intern to help expand the organization’s digital presence and industry engagement, with a primary focus on LinkedIn and implementation of a newly developed marketing and membership growth strategy.

This internship is ideal for a student interested in marketing, communications, aviation, business, public relations, social media management, or professional association operations. The selected intern will play a hands-on role in growing awareness of NPMC, increasing audience engagement, and helping position the organization as a year-round professional resource within the aviation fueling industry.

Position Goal

This internship supports NPMC’s mission to increase awareness, strengthen member engagement, and grow the organization’s presence beyond its annual conference by building a stronger year-round digital community within the aviation fueling industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with execution of NPMC’s social media and marketing strategy
  • Create, schedule, and publish content primarily on LinkedIn
  • Develop engaging social media posts highlighting:
    • Aviation fueling industry news
    • Member recognition and spotlights
    • Safety tips and certification achievements
    • NPMC event updates and speaker highlights
    • Industry education and networking opportunities
  • Support growth of NPMC’s monthly PETROGRAM newsletter audience
  • Help maintain a consistent brand voice and professional online presence
  • Track engagement metrics and provide basic performance reports
  • Research trends, hashtags, and audience engagement strategies relevant to aviation, fueling, and professional associations
  • Assist with newsletter content development and promotional campaigns
  • Coordinate with NPMC leadership on content ideas and communication priorities
  • Help identify opportunities to attract emerging professionals and future industry leaders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current college student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in:
    • Marketing
    • Communications
    • Public Relations
    • Business
    • Journalism
    • Aviation Management
    • Or a related field
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn and other social media platforms
  • Organized, dependable, and self-motivated
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a professional environment
  • Interest in aviation, transportation, energy, or industry associations is a plus
  • Experience with Canva, Mailchimp, or social media scheduling tools is helpful but not required
