Middle School Intervention Specialist

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:    

• Valid Ohio Teaching License in Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Intensive or equivalent
• Experience in diagnostic assessments to determine instructional needs of students
• Ability to write an I.E.P. to develop instructional goals and objectives based on a student’s needs in cooperation with an I.E.P. team
• Organizational skills leading to implementation of instructional goals and objectives 
• Ability to develop instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with disabilities in the regular classroom
• Ability to assist general education classroom teachers in implementing instructional strategies to meet the needs of students

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working with students with special needs at the Middle School level
• Familiar with and capable of utilizing computer applications to enhance instruction
• Experience with Behavioral Interventions
• Knowledge of crisis prevention and strategies for de-escalation
• Experience with co-teaching
