Accounting Resume Book- FALL 2026

🚨 PLEASE READ ENTIRELY AND CAREFULLY🚨

Hello from USD Accountancy Programs and the Knauss Student Success Center!

Welcome to the posting for the USD Meet the Firms Fall 2026 Resume Book. If you are searching for an internship for Summer 2027 (yes- you read that correctly), or a full-time position upon graduating Spring 2027 semester, you are in the right place. Accounting employers have requested to see all student resumes before Meet the Firms on September 24, 2026. Submitting your resume to the resume book is highly recommended for students. Please note: although you have submitted you resume, it is not guaranteed to be included in the resume book- follow the steps below to ensure your resume is included in the resume book.

Deadline and Eligibility:

  • In order to be eligible to be included in this resume book, you must be actively searching for a Summer 2027 internship or job, and have not accepted an offer for a Summer 2027 Internship or Full-Time position already.
  • RSVP for Meet the Firms if you have not done so already.
  • Finalized resumes must be approved and submitted before September 15th at 12:00pm (noon). If you do not make this submission date, you can still attend Meet the Firms; however, your resume may not be included in the Resume Book.

How to be included in the resume book:

  1. Create your resume must use the correct template provided here
    1. There are different templates that are to be used depending on your personal situation (for example- a transfer student vs. a senior student). Create and upload your resume in a Word Doc (.docx file).
    2. We are very strict about the template- do not get creative with the design and format.
    3. Edit the document with your personal information and experience.
  2. Schedule an appointment with the Accounting Business Career Services Manager (Jody Chen) through Handshake
    1. Your resume must be approved in order to be included. Best way to do this quickly is to schedule a meeting and review your resume together.
    2. Choose ‘Accounting Resume Book Review’ as your appointment type.
    3. Come prepared with a first draft of your resume complete.
  3. Submit your resume via Handshake by the deadline
    1. Once your resume is complete, submit your resume as a PDF file via the Handshake posting.
    2. PLEASE NOTE: Please check your emails for any edits or revisions needed and resubmit. If you did not receive a confirmation email from me, that means your resume is not accepted.

PLEASE NOTE: In addition to submitting your resume here, you must also apply to each firm's individual job posting separately.

DISCLAIMER:

  • By submitting your resume to the resume book you are authorizing Knauss Student Services to release your resume to companies that are seeking candidates that match your general profile.
  • Since you will not know which organizations may be requesting the resume book, only opt-in if you truly want your resume circulated to the broadest potential range of employers.
  • A resume book does not guarantee a position. This is simply an option in your job or internship search.
  • You do not have to include your resume in Accounting Resume book to attend Meet the Firms.

What Do I Do if a Company Contacts Me?

If you are contacted by a company, be sure to respond professionally in both written and oral communications. Before submitting your resume, make sure you have a professional email address and a formal voicemail message. If you are contacted, it is likely the employer wants to set up an interview, either over the phone or in person, or convey next steps in the application process. If you have already found a job or internship, or if you are not interested in the company or position, be polite and remember that you are the one that submitted your resume in hopes of a response.
