End User Technical Support Technician

Job Title: End User Technical Support Technician I (Staff Augmentation – EBRSO)

Location: Near Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
On-Call Rotation: Every 6 weeks (stipend per on-call week)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and motivated End User Technical Support Technician I to support our client, East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office (EBRSO). This is a staff augmentation role working onsite in a secure environment.

This position is ideal for someone with foundational IT knowledge who is eager to grow, learn, and gain hands-on experience in a structured and mission-critical setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide end-user technical support for desktops, printers, and basic network issues 
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems in a timely manner 
  • Support and maintain endpoint systems in a secure environment 
  • Utilize ticketing systems to track, update, and resolve incidents 
  • Assist with device setup, deployment, and maintenance 
  • Follow escalation procedures and document all work performed 
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to urgent issues as needed 

Required Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of IT support concepts (hardware, software, troubleshooting)  
  • Strong willingness to learn and grow in a technical role 
  • Comfortable working in a correctional / inmate environment 
  • Ability to pass background check and fingerprinting (CJIS requirement – typically completed within one day) 
  • Reliable and able to adhere to structured schedules and procedures 
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and emergency response (including severe weather events common in Louisiana) 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools 
  • Exposure to Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) platforms 
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (Halo, ServiceNow, etc.) 
  • Prior helpdesk or technical support experience 

Certifications & Requirements

  • CompTIA Security+ required within 6 months of hire (company reimburses upon passing) 
  • CJIS Certification ability to pass CJIS Certification check (background check + fingerprinting provided)
