What We Do
The City Clerk's Office is responsible for providing support to the Mayor and City Council, and services to the community and City departments. The City Clerk's office plans, supervises and conducts all municipal elections, and maintains the official minutes of all proceedings, records, ordinances, resolutions, contracts and other official City documents and public records. This office provides the required public notices for meetings and public hearings, administers the City's Records Program, codifies and maintains the Beverly Hills Municipal Code, and administers the City's commission appointment/reappointment process. Additionally, employees in this department act as filing officers for all reports under the State's Political Reform Act, accept claims and legal processes against the City, and responds to and processes all public records requests under the California Public Records Act (CPRA).
Who We're Looking For
The City of Beverly Hills is seeking an outstanding undergraduate student with an interest in municipal government for an Administrative Intern position with the City Clerk's Office. We welcome applicants majoring in Public Administration, Public Policy, Political Science, History, Business Administration, or a related field.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in municipal and local government and a desire to gain hands-on experience in a professional civic environment. The incumbent will support general office operations, including filing and records management, closing out agreements, processing legislative advocate forms, assisting with archival projects, and digitizing records.

Salary and Benefits
$17.81 - $21.64 Hourly
This position is represented by the Municipal Employees Association - Part-Time Unit and is covered by the negotiated terms and conditions of that Association's Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Minimum Qualifications
- Current enrollment at an accredited College or University and in good standing is required for an Undergraduate Student Intern.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university is required.
- Coursework in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Industrial Psychology or related field is desirable.
