Position Overview

My Fun Port A is seeking a creative, energetic, and motivated Marketing & Social Media Intern to join our growing marketing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate interested in tourism, hospitality, social media marketing, photography, videography, and content creation.

The ideal candidate is comfortable behind a camera, enjoys creating engaging social media content, and is excited about spending time at boats, restaurants, events, and attractions to capture authentic experiences that showcase the Port Aransas lifestyle.

This position works directly with and serves as an assistant to the Marketing Director while helping execute marketing initiatives across all My Fun Port A brands.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Content Creation

Capture photos and videos at all My Fun Port A locations and events.

Create engaging content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other social media platforms.

Film fishing trips, dolphin cruises, restaurant features, customer experiences, special events, and promotional campaigns.

Assist with creating reels, stories, short-form videos, and promotional graphics.

Help maintain a consistent brand voice across all company brands.

Photography & Videography

Visit company locations regularly to gather fresh content.

Edit photos and videos for social media, websites, email campaigns, and advertising.

Organize and maintain a digital library of marketing assets.

Assist with drone footage and special media projects when applicable.

Marketing Support

Assist the Marketing Director with ongoing campaigns and projects.

Help coordinate promotions, contests, and special events.

Conduct research on tourism trends, competitors, and social media best practices.

Assist with website content updates and email marketing campaigns.

Help monitor social media engagement and customer interactions.

Administrative Assistance

Support the Marketing Director with project management and campaign execution.

Assist with vendor communications and marketing logistics.

Help organize marketing calendars and content schedules.

Perform other marketing-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising, Digital Media, Business, or a related field.

Strong understanding of social media platforms and current trends.

Experience using Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.

Comfortable taking photos and recording video content.

Basic knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar editing software.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.

Ability to work outdoors in coastal environments and on boats when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Photography or videography experience.

Experience managing social media accounts.

Knowledge of tourism, hospitality, fishing, boating, or restaurant industries.

Drone certification or drone experience is a plus.

Graphic design experience is a plus.
