Software Engineering Internship

Paid • June 15–July 31 • Remote

 

Goalbound is an early-stage sports analytics company building data tools for the college recruiting ecosystem. 

What You’ll Do:

 Work directly with the founder on the core data and product stack:

  • Extend our scraping pipeline 
  • Design and ship the data visualizations
  • Opine on our system architecture 
  • Contribute to our data warehousing process
  • Work alongside AI tooling 

Our Tech Stack

  • Frontend & Server: Next.js (with TypeScript & TailwindCSS)
  • Database: Neon PostgreSQL with Prisma ORM
  • Backend Scripts: Python (used for web scraping)
  • Deployment: Vercel
  • AI Tooling: Claude (we use Claude across the workflow for coding, research, and analysis).

Who We’re Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a degree in applied mathematics, computer science, statistics, data science, or a related field
  • Comfortable in Python; bonus points for any of: TypeScript/Next.js, SQL, Prisma, web scraping, geospatial libraries, Git
  • Self-directed, curious, and willing to ship imperfect things and iterate.
  • Detail-oriented with data — you notice when numbers don’t add up.

Logistics

Dates: June 15 – July 31, 2026

Hours: 20 hours per week

Compensation: $25 per hour, plus a Goalbound-covered Claude Pro subscription ($20/month) for the duration of the internship

Location: Remote

Reports to: Tom Garvey, CEO
