Hardware Engineering Intern
What you'll do
You'll work directly with our team on the robots that move through our lab. Day to day:
Assembling, wiring, and testing robot platforms (arms, hands, quadrupeds, teleop rigs) before they ship
Running QA on incoming and outgoing hardware
Setting up and staging robots for customer demos and meetups
Troubleshooting mechanical/electrical issues and documenting fixes
Who you are
Hands-on builder with real robotics or engineering experience — we care about what you've built, not your degree level
Comfortable with mechanical assembly and basic electronics; bonus for CAD, soldering, or programming
Self-directed enough to take an ambiguous task and find your own path
Reliable, detail-oriented, and genuinely excited about robots
Experience we love to see
Any of these (or similar) is a strong signal:
FIRST / VEX — FRC, FTC, FLL, VEX Robotics / VEX U
University & international comps — RoboCup, Lunabotics, University Rover Challenge, MATE ROV, RoboMaster, RoboBoat/RoboSub, Eurobot, WRO, BattleBots
Engineering & maker — Formula SAE / Formula Student, BAJA SAE, hackathons, Maker Faire builds
Academic & research — manipulation/locomotion lab work, teleop or VLA/imitation-learning projects, published papers
Independent projects — personal builds, drones, custom arms, anything you've designed and made move
Nice to have
CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape) or PCB design
ROS / ROS 2, LeRobot, or teleoperation systems
