Special Education Teacher (Immediate Opening)
We are seeking a NY State–certified Special Education Teacher to join a specialized, ungraded classroom serving students with significant learning needs.
Students are ages 12–14but are working at early childhood academic levels. Instruction focuses on functional academics, communication, and life skills rather than traditional grade-level curriculum.
This role is ideal for educators who are flexible, patient, and experienced with diverse learners.
Responsibilities
- Deliver differentiated instruction aligned to student IEPs
- Focus on functional academics and adaptive skills
- Collaborate with instructional coaches and special education leadership
- Track progress and maintain required documentation
- Work closely with related service providers and classroom staff
Requirements
- NY State Special Education Certification (required)
(Birth–2, 1–6, or 7–12 accepted)
- Comfort teaching older students with early academic levels
- Experience with students with disabilities preferred
- Strong collaboration and classroom management skills
Salary
- Starting at $65,000
- Additional compensation based on experience

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
