Medical Assistant – Plastic Surgery Office

Location:  14434 Bruce B Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL 33613
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $15–$20 per hour (based on experience)

About the Position

We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and dependable Medical Assistant to join our growing plastic surgery practice. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in both front-office and back-office capacities within a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and passionate about providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients professionally and courteously
  • Schedule patient consultations, follow-up appointments, and surgical procedures
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Obtain surgery insurance pre-authorizations
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation
  • Assist physicians with minor in-office procedures
  • Remove drains and change surgical dressings as directed
  • Triage patient concerns and communicate appropriately with providers
  • Provide excellent patient care and customer service throughout the patient experience
  • Assist with front desk operations, patient check-in/check-out, and administrative tasks
  • Help maintain an organized, efficient, and welcoming office environment

Qualifications

  • Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is a plus
  • Strong computer skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
  • Compassionate, professional, and patient-focused attitude
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Eager to learn and take initiative in a team-oriented environment

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • Daytime business hours only
  • No weekends
