IT Operations Support Specialist
Position Description:
Responsibilities & Requirements: Support a multi-shift manufacturing operation with flexibility for days, nights, and weekends as needed. Provide technical support for plant applications, infrastructure, operating systems, and end-user tools; troubleshoot incidents; analyze system and process issues; coordinate escalations; and work closely with business IT, plant owners, engineers, and global support teams to prioritize fixes and continuous improvement opportunities. Maintain, enhance, and integrate plant applications and hardware, support Cisco network equipment, Windows/Linux physical and virtual servers, and IIOT deployments using iOS and Android devices. Develop accurate support documentation, follow standard support processes, and assist with workload coordination across the site IT team. Qualifications & Skills: Candidates should be eager to learn manufacturing operations, adapt quickly to new technologies, and work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Strong communication, multitasking, problem-solving, customer support, and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential, along with the ability to engage all levels of plant leadership, hourly teams, and global IT partners. Preferred or learnable technical skills include server administration (Windows/Linux), Cisco networking, Active Directory/ADFS, virtual servers, Mac/iOS/Android support, Office 365, SharePoint, PowerShell, Power BI, HTML, and basic scripting or automation concepts. Experience with Dell/HP hardware, plant automation, manufacturing execution systems, and Ford manufacturing systems is a plus.

The Livonia Transmission Plant IT Engineer plays a key role in supporting the technology, systems, and applications that help keep plant operations running efficiently across four transmission lines. This position is responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, supporting plant infrastructure and manufacturing systems, and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and modernization initiatives, including IIOT. It is an excellent opportunity for a motivated candidate to expand both IT and manufacturing knowledge while contributing to operational reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment.
