Student Laboratory Assistant

The Department of Pathology is recruiting for a student laboratory assistant to provide support for all aspects of the Histology Research Laboratory and the Comparative Pathology Laboratory. 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Prepare slides for projects and organize project trays for technicians
2. Assist with pulling and filing blocks and slides
3. Perform routine preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment in the lab and general cleaning of the laboratory space
4. Stock supplies to make sure plenty are on hand for each day
5. Organize lab supplies and reagents
6. Handle biohazardous waste and prepare waste containers for disposal
7. Provide assistance to core staff with experiments as needed
8. Computer work: data entry, typing, as need
9. Work with human and animal tissues, such as loading the tissue processor, as needed.

Schedule will be 1st shift, approximately 10 hours/week, flexible with class schedule.
