Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories to inform care plans.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following physician orders while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and safety protocols.
- Manage IV infusions, catheterizations, wound dressings, and other specialized procedures with precision and aseptic technique.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner to document patient care activities thoroughly and accurately.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations, specimen collection/processing, and medical imaging procedures as needed.
- Provide patient education on medication management, disease processes such as Alzheimer’s or dementia care, nutrition, and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, case managers, physical therapists, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Support emergency situations by managing airway issues, ventilator use, or acute pain management in accordance with Level I Trauma Center standards or ICU protocols.
- Work with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs by applying specialized assessment techniques and compassionate care strategies.
Experience
- Valid licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the relevant state or jurisdiction.
- Prior experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including ICU or Level II trauma centers), nursing homes, hospice care, or outpatient clinics.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
- Experience in critical care areas including emergency medicine, medical-surgical units, or pediatrics is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for medical records and documentation purposes.
- Familiarity with infection control practices and sterile processing techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Ability to perform phlebotomy, venipuncture, tube feeding management, and basic life support (BLS).
- Working knowledge of physiology principles related to patient assessment and diagnostic evaluation across age groups from neonatal to geriatric populations. Pay: $28.50 - $35.00 per hour
