K–12 Music Teacher2026–2027 School Year

Marais des Cygnes Valley USD 456 is accepting applications for a K–12 Music Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year.

MdCV is a small rural district with strong community support, excellent student involvement, and a family-oriented culture focused on doing what is best for kids.

Position Responsibilities

  • Elementary Music (Grades K–5) located at Quenemo Elementary
  • Junior High / High School Music (Grades 6–12) located at MdCV Jr./Sr. High School in Melvern
  • Vocal Music
  • Instrumental Music / Band
  • Pep Band
  • Concert performances and school programs
  • Collaboration with staff to support student activities and school culture

Additional Opportunities

  • Coaching and sponsor opportunities may be available based on applicant qualifications and district needs.

Qualifications

  • Current Kansas teaching license with appropriate endorsements or ability to obtain licensure
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Desire to build positive relationships with students, families, and community members
  • Commitment to student growth and participation
