Education Intern
ABOUT RMFU:
Rocky Mountain Farmers Union (RMFU) is a grassroots membership organization representing family farmers, ranchers, cooperatives, and rural communities across Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming. Founded on the principles of education, cooperation, and legislation, RMFU advocates for policies that strengthen independent agriculture, expand economic opportunity, and sustain rural communities.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Education Intern supports RMFU’s Education Department by assisting with youth and adult programming, curriculum development, and event coordination. This role provides hands-on experience in agricultural education, cooperative leadership, and nonprofit program delivery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Assist with youth programs, camps, and leadership events
•Support curriculum development
•Help facilitate educational activities
•Provide event and administrative support
•Assist with outreach and recruitment
•Attend regional and national meetings as necessary
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
•Serve as a member of the RMFU team, participate in staff meetings, training programs, and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
•Support additional tasks as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Required Qualifications
Education
• Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
Desired Qualifications
Experience
• Experience in agriculture or education preferred.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
• Requires the extensive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
• Frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, reach with arms and hands, talk, see, and hear, and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Position is designated as field staff, with limited in-office days, and some evening and weekends, with travel to camps and events required. Potential candidates must be able to be in-office in the Denver Tech Center twice monthly.
