Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating innovative learning technology and differentiated instruction strategies.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing and portfolio reviews.
- Provide targeted tutoring and mentoring to support diverse learning needs, including special education and childhood development considerations.
- Develop engaging instructional materials that incorporate AP style, Chicago Manual of Style guidelines, and creative writing techniques to enhance literacy education.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques, fostering an inclusive environment conducive to active participation.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development initiatives, integrating subjects such as geometry, trigonometry, calculus, algebra, and sports coaching into interdisciplinary lessons.
- Offer academic advising and support for students preparing for college entrance exams or standardized assessments while promoting literacy and math proficiency.
- Engage in ongoing professional development focused on classroom management, public speaking, teaching physical education, library services, Montessori methods, and education administration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; advanced certifications preferred.
- Proven classroom experience working with high school students across diverse backgrounds.
- Strong knowledge of math subjects including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and related fields.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate students and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, copy editing, proofreading, and applying AP style or Chicago Manual of Style standards.
- Familiarity with learning technology tools to enhance instructional delivery and student engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior positively while supporting special education needs or childhood development programs.
- Passion for mentoring students in literacy education, creative writing, public speaking, sports coaching, or library services is highly desirable.
