Job Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Licensed Physical Therapist in good standing with the State of Michigan
  • BLS certification within 3 months of hire
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance (required for Bronson at Home)

Driving Requirement

Regular use of your personal vehicle is required. An MVR check must be completed after offer and before start date. Employees must maintain valid auto insurance and update Bronson if coverage changes or a different vehicle is used for business purposes.

Additional Qualifications

  • Keyboarding and basic computer skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Social sensitivity and effective communication in English
  • High interpersonal skills for delicate patient care situations
  • Ability to manage mental/visual fatigue and frequent deadlines
  • Considerable standing/walking; regular lifting up to 20 lbs; assisting with heavier tasks as needed

Clinical Duties

  • Interpret and implement referrals; evaluate functional abilities using standardized assessments
  • Establish treatment plans, education plans, and patient goals
  • Provide direct patient care, including individual and group therapy
  • Educate patients, families, and the community
  • Participate in interdisciplinary discussions, rounds, and clinics
  • Estimate length of treatment and track progress
  • Design and fabricate splints or assistive devices as needed
  • Support program development and process improvement
  • Serve as a resource in areas of expertise and provide in‑services
  • Cross‑train and provide coverage across Rehabilitation Services as needed

Administrative Duties

  • Document evaluations, treatment plans, interventions, and progress within required timelines
  • Communicate documentation barriers to leadership
  • Maintain accurate, legible, and complete patient records
  • Participate in committees, task forces, and process improvement
  • Demonstrate strong time‑management skills
  • Supervise PTAs, Rehab Clinical Assistants, PT/PTA students, volunteers, and athletic trainers
