Overview of Position: The College Ministry Director will be responsible for building committed followers of Jesus Christ among college-age young adults by building relationships and creating programs and environments that foster spiritual growth.
Qualifications
- Mature, growing disciple with a consistent devotional life
- Meets the spiritual qualifications found in I Timothy, Titus, and I Peter
- Exhibits a missional lifestyle and mindset shown through value of relational ministry
- Possesses an undergraduate degree (preferred)
- Experience and enthusiasm for making disciples and ministering to students and their families
- Ability to work on a team towards specific goals in a mutually edifying and supportive manner
- Ability to work on multiple tasks, be flexible, and work with little supervision
- Able to lead a team and cast vision
- Familiar with current trends related to college-age students, parents, and families
- Understands effective approaches to college-age ministry
- Self-motivated, strategic thinker, with strong communication skills
- Committed to and agrees with the ministry philosophy and statement of faith of ARBC
Primary duties and Responsibilities
College
- Create a balanced ministry through developing a variety of environments for students to come to know Jesus, grow in Him, and serve Him
- Create a relationally driven ministry by example and investment in adult and college-age leaders
- Ability to build a community of college-age young adults that grow together
- Develop and implement strategies, budgets, and goals for growing the ministry
- Expand the college-age ministry through recruiting and equipping new leaders
- Maintain good relationships with volunteer leaders and provide continual motivation, feedback, and training
- Lead the college-age ministry leaders by casting vision, creating goals, and equipping them to lead in their individual areas of influence
- Create content for weekly large and small group meetings, and communicate with leaders on how to incorporate it into their groups
- Participate in other ministry duties as determined by supervisor
