International Education & Community Engagement Internship

ILI Travel offers immersive internship and service-learning opportunities in the Dominican Republic for students interested in education, public health, youth development, cultural immersion, and community engagement.

Participants live with local host families while engaging in meaningful community-based experiences. Internship tracks may include:

• Teaching English or sports in local schools
• Youth development and educational programming
• Community health outreach and education initiatives
• Spanish language and cultural immersion experiences

Students with stronger Spanish skills may participate in community healthcare canvassing and outreach initiatives. Optional cultural immersion guide/interpreter support is available for participants seeking additional language and cultural assistance during placements.

Programs range from 2 weeks to extended summer or gap year experiences and are designed to foster intercultural understanding, personal growth, leadership development, and global engagement.

Ideal candidates are adaptable, relationship-oriented, culturally curious, and interested in experiential learning and community engagement.
