High School Chemistry Teacher
Job Summary
Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton School District is seeking a caring, outgoing, and transformative High School Chemistry Teacher. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Junior High and High School Science classes, with a background working with at-risk students and experiential learning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills
- Collaborate and work with fellow teachers to provide the best growth and opportunities for high school students
- Create a flexible, safe learning environment that is conducive to individualized and small group learning
- Provide feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
- Document teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes
- Understand and utilize district technologies to support learning for students
- Other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor

- Knowledge of Infinite Campus and Educlimber preferred
Education/Certification Requirements
- BA/BS in Education
- PELSB License:
- 125 Continuing Education Units every five years
Physical Requirements
This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing, frequently requires standing, walking, sitting and using hands to finger, handle or feel and occasionally requires stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, pushing or pulling and lifting; work requires close vision and distance vision; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions, exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment and Exposure to bodily fluids; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
