POSITION SUMMARY:
The Legal Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the firm’s legal team by preparing court documents, managing case files, and facilitating filings and trial preparation. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven legal environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Draft and prepare new lawsuit filings across multiple jurisdictions.
• Redact documents and assemble exhibits for court submission.
• Prepare, send, and e-file discovery materials in accordance with venue-specific requirements.
• Manage motion practice, including drafting and filing motions for summary judgment.
• Assist with trial preparation, including preparing subpoenas, notices, motions, and orders, as well as organizing and printing exhibits and pleadings.
• Draft correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned with acceptable results.
SCOPE OF INTERACTION:
Regularly collaborates with internal attorneys, legal staff, court clerks, and opposing counsel to ensure timely and accurate case progression.
EDUCATION, PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE, & SPECIALIZED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
• High school diploma required; some college coursework or paralegal certification preferred.
• Minimum of two years of office experience; legal experience preferred.
• Microsoft Office and document formatting skills required.
Location: In-person
Position operates in a standard office environment.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8-hour shift.
