Primary Purpose:
Provide behavioral support and consultation to campus staff serving students with significant behavioral challenges. The Behavior Specialist assists in the development and implementation of behavior intervention strategies, supports teachers and paraprofessionals, collaborates with parents, and helps ensure appropriate behavioral supports are in place to promote student success in the educational environment.

Education/Certification:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, Psychology, Behavior Analysis, Counseling, Social Work, or related field
Valid Texas teaching certificate, LPC, LMSW, or related certification preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of behavior management strategies and positive behavioral supports
Understanding of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
Knowledge of IDEA, special education procedures, and ARD/IEP processes
Ability to collect and analyze behavioral data
Strong consultation and collaboration skills
Ability to train and support teachers and paraprofessionals
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience:
Experience working with students with autism, emotional/behavioral disorders, or significant behavioral needs preferred
Experience in school settings preferred
