Department Assistant - Student Lead

$12.00/hour

Job Description 

This position requires a trustworthy and dedicated team member to support Transportation Services and the Campus community on weekends and work with limited supervision. The goal of this position is to monitor parking facilities on campus, report any damage or suspicious activity, and to support campus wide initiatives by staffing events, or assisting visitors. This position will assist with garage/surface lot maintenance as well as enforcement (issue citations) to violators on campus when additional coverage is needed.

Qualifications & Expectations 

To apply for this position, one must be enrolled for at least three credits. Applicants must be willing to abide by all FAA work rules/practices specifically outlined but not limited to the Student Employment Handbook and handbooks and/or rules outlined by your department. Weekend shifts required on Saturday and Sunday (looking for coverage between 8a-10p); weekday shifts are flexible. 

Job Functions include but are not limited to: 

  • Reliability for weekend/evening coverage 
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Comfort working outdoors/in garages in all weather 
  • Customer service during parking events 
  • Physical tasks (cleaning, lifting, debris removal) 
  • Having a valid driver’s license 
  • Flexibility with scheduling 

The strongest qualifications for this role would be:

  • Any custodial, facilities, maintenance, warehouse, or campus job experience 
  • Customer service experience 
  • Leadership or “student lead” experience 
  • Dependability and time management 
  • Ability to work evenings/weekends consistently
