Property Pricing Intern

Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Insurance Company is seeking a Property Pricing Intern to work out of their Alpharetta, Georgia office.
Hours: Between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- 15-30 hours per week during the school year depending on the applicant's schedule
- 30-40 hours per week in the summer
Duties in the Pricing Department include:
- Collection and analysis of data to determine pricing of various property characteristics
- Interaction with state departments of insurance to gain approval of desired rates where needed, and interaction with internal programming team to ensure accurate implementation of rates.
- Communication of pricing decisions and results via regular and ad hoc reports
- Required data reporting for the states in which we write business
- Regular review of live policies to check for accurate rating
During this internship, the student will gain:
- Knowledge of fundamental concepts of insurance (including coverages & pricing)
- An understanding of basic commercial property insurance pricing and the organization of pricing data
Requirements:
- Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
- Major in business, math, or equivalent
- Work with detail and accuracy
- Strong math skills
- Excellent grammar, proofreading and written communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
