College Success Counselor
Brooklyn Lab exists to open doors — and our College Success Counselor is one of the people who holds them open. We're looking for a passionate, strategic advisor who believes every scholar, regardless of background, deserves a real shot at college completion and career success.
In this role, you'll own the full college application journey for our seniors — from building balanced college lists and navigating financial aid to cultivating partnerships with universities, scholarship providers, and employers. You'll also co-teach college readiness curriculum and lead family workshops that demystify the process for first-generation college-goers.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree in student personnel administration, counseling, higher education, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of three years of experience providing direct counseling, advising, and coaching to high school students
- Working knowledge of current retention practice theories with an emphasis on research, assessment, and data-informed decision making
- Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities for first-generation college students
- Strong financial aid and scholarship support knowledge and experience
- Demonstrated event planning and project management skills
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
If you're driven by college access equity and want to work somewhere your work translates directly into life-changing outcomes for students, we'd love to connect. Apply directly through Brooklyn Lab's careers page by clicking here.
